Five Families Will Be Selected!

Written by admin on June 24, 2010 – 10:22 pm -

We are focusing our fundraising efforts on helping five families. We will select from the pool of families who apply for a grant. There are so many who need our help so it’s going to be really hard to decide.  If you know of someone who has a special need please have them fill out a grant application so we can put them in our focus pool.

You can download the form on our website!

Be sure to tell your employer about our organization so we can be included as a suggested charitable corporation.

This is going to be an exciting year! Donate by clicking on the DONATE button and help us fund these requests.

Come back to the website to learn more about each family we plan to help.

We are pleased to announce that our FALL 2009 scholarship award winners were selected.  This selection process was much harder than we had anticipated.  There were incredible candidates in this first round of scholarship applicants.  As we raise more money we hope to help more of our applicants find a way to attend college or a trade school.

Kyleigh Ivory won our $1,000 scholarship.  Austin Amaro won our $500 scholarship.  Please come back for more information on these amazing people.

We are currently reviewing the next group of applicants for our Winter 2010 Scholarship winner.  We will announce that winner after our fund raising campaign over the holidays.  Application deadline is October 31, 2009 for the winter round of Scholarships.  Please use the application on our website.  Scholarship amounts are based on funds available at the time of the award and subject to change based on the input of our board of directors.  If you submitted an application for the Fall campaign, your application will also be considered for the winter scholarship.

I loved how Nick shares his incredible story and reminds us that if we put the word GO in front of the word DISABLE we get a new perspective on disability God-Is-Able!  Yes He is!  Thanks Nick!  Be sure to check out Nick’s website in our links at www.lifewithoutlimbs.org

Check out the adaptive fishing group

Written by admin on July 23, 2009 – 8:15 am -

Yesterday (07/22/2009) in the Missoulian  in Missoula, MT, there was a cool story about adaptive fishing boats and rods for people with disabilities.  Go to www.Missoulian.com and review the recent featured stories.  This story is called Adapting to Nature.  There is a group who worked with Children’s Hospital and Craig Hospital in Denver to make adaptive equipment and boats to help people with disabilities fish.  Very cool!
